Our expertise

Expertise shaped around your circumstances.

Six connected areas of accounting, tax and advisory work. Most families and business owners draw on several of them at once — which is precisely why they are best considered together.

01

Private Client Tax Advisory

Proactive tax advice and compliance across personal income, investments, trusts and family companies.

We look after the personal tax position alongside the entities that sit around it — trusts, companies, partnerships and investment holdings — so decisions are made with the full picture in view.

Our work covers annual compliance, distribution planning, capital gains considerations and the tax questions that arise as circumstances change.

Situations we often see

  • Income arriving from several sources and entities
  • Trust distributions requiring careful annual consideration
  • Investment and property transactions with capital gains implications
02

Family Office Support

Coordinated reporting, financial administration and oversight of accounting and tax obligations across your family group.

Family office support brings structure to the accounting, reporting and administration of a family group, without the cost and complexity of building an internal team.

We prepare consolidated family-group reporting, keep compliance obligations coordinated across entities, and work alongside the legal and investment advisers already involved.

Situations we often see

  • A family group with several entities and no single view of it
  • Reporting assembled from different sources at different times
  • Advisers working capably, but separately from one another
03

Structuring & Succession

Tax and accounting perspectives on ownership structures, business transitions and intergenerational planning, working alongside your legal advisers.

Ownership structures are rarely designed all at once; they accumulate. We review how a structure operates today and what it means for tax, reporting and future transitions.

Legal documentation is prepared by your lawyers. We contribute the accounting and tax perspective and keep the conversation coordinated.

Situations we often see

  • A structure that has grown organically over many years
  • Preparing to transition a business or its ownership
  • Considering how assets and responsibilities pass to the next generation
04

Business Owner Advisory

Accounting, management reporting and commercial insight that connect business decisions with personal and family priorities.

For an owner, the business and the family balance sheet are the same conversation. We prepare management reporting that supports decisions rather than simply recording history.

This includes statutory accounts, periodic management reporting, cash-flow visibility and the tax consequences of commercial decisions.

Situations we often see

  • Growth, acquisition or reinvestment decisions with personal consequences
  • Reporting that arrives too late to inform a decision
  • Remuneration, dividend and distribution planning across a group
05

Australian & Cross-Border Tax

Support with Australian tax residency, overseas income and cross-border reporting, with overseas advisers involved where needed.

Families with connections beyond Australia face questions of residency, foreign income, and reporting in more than one jurisdiction.

We address the Australian position and coordinate with overseas advisers where local advice is required.

Situations we often see

  • Family members living, working or studying overseas
  • Foreign income, assets or inheritances
  • Arriving in or departing from Australia
06

Superannuation & SMSF Compliance

Accounting, tax and administration support for self-managed superannuation funds, with investment and financial-product advice left to appropriately authorised advisers.

We prepare fund accounts, tax returns and member reporting, and coordinate the annual audit process with an independent auditor.

Investment selection and financial-product advice sit with appropriately licensed advisers; we support the accounting, tax and administrative obligations.

Situations we often see

  • A self-managed fund forming part of a wider family structure
  • Contribution and pension considerations requiring careful timing
  • Reporting that needs to align with the rest of the family group

Scope

What sits outside our work.

Assura Partners provides accounting, tax and advisory services. We do not manage investment portfolios, hold client assets, provide financial-product advice, prepare legal documents or arrange banking, insurance or lending. Where those services are required, we work alongside the appropriately licensed advisers involved.
